The completion of the sacristy covers a period of time from 1546 to 1555, the date when the grand castone or ceiling structure was ready host Paolo Veronese’s works of art. Displayed in one of the cherubs’ books is an inscription with the concluding date, 23rd November, 1555.
The Coronation of the Virgin is placed in the center of the ceiling, and refers to the original name of the church. The coronation is clearly conducted in the glory of the sky, held upon weightless clouds, and complete with the Trinity and a few flying angels in the jubilant light.
